“Our story begins with 500 acres of cotton fields in Akola, Vidarbha—where rain was our only hope, and the sky decided our fate.”
Our family has been farming in the rainfed region of Akola for generations. Back in the 60s and 70s, cotton was our lifeline—grown with care, harvested with hope, and sent to Mumbai’s cotton mills via Central Railway. But as the mills shut down due to strikes, markets collapsed.
At the same time, rainfall grew more unpredictable—drought one year, flooding the next. No irrigation. No early warnings. Just hope. Slowly, debts mounted and our land slipped away.

The journey of Terraflux began in the fields—walking among crops, understanding farmers’ challenges, and witnessing the changing climate’s impact on agriculture. Founded by Bhushan Kachawe, a geologist and environmental expert with decades of field experience, Terraflux was born out of a vision to bridge traditional farming wisdom with cutting-edge geospatial technologies. What started as soil surveys and environmental assessments soon evolved into a powerful platform leveraging satellite imagery, drone data, and AI analytics to transform Indian agriculture—field by field, pixel by pixel.
